I have grown up admiring my parents' flower beds, dedicated to growing roses for cutting and spending time with my Grandmother deadheading roses. On buying a home in Dorset in 2009, I made sure there was room in our garden to have an area devoted to growing roses, with natural charm, character and heady scent - so often lost in mass produced readily available flowers.
Living close to the Jurassic Coast I began to sell my hand tied bunches of roses as welcome arrangements for holiday lets, allowing the scent to infuse the air of a holiday home on arrival. The roses are often arranged in vases and jugs I have sourced locally in Bridport, where I have been able to continue my interest in porcelain after previously working for a porcelain dealer.
Since then Rosa Cheney has expanded to offer arrangements for gifts, events and stems.
